Gaël Dias graduated in Computer Science and Management from the University of Orléans (France). He has a DEA in Languages, Programming and Translation from the Laboratoire d'Informatique Fondamentale d'Orléans (LIFO, France), and a PhD in Natural Language Processing (automatic extraction of collocations from corpora) from the New University of Lisbon, in collaboration with the Laboratoire d'Informatique Fondamentale d'Orléans.
He is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Beira Interior, in Covilhã, where he teaches all subjects related to Artificial Intelligence and System Analysis. He is a researcher at the Centre of Mathematics of the University of Beira Interior and an Invited Researcher at L²F. He has the Erdös Number 5 classification (Erdös number project). He is responsible for the Centre of Human Language Technology and Bioinformatics (HULTIG) of the University of Beira Interior. He is a member of the French Association for Natural Language Processing (ATALA) and a member of the Portuguese Association of Artificial Intelligence (APPIA).
