Hi! I'm Patrícia and am currently a PhD Student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Lisbon and researcher at INESC-ID.

I graduated in Electrical and Computer Engineering from IST and received a Master also in Electrical and Computer Engineering from IST and Systems, Control & Robotics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, in 2020.

I work at the intersection of Natural Language Processing and Affective Computing, on Emotion Recognition in Conversations, Emotional Answer Generation and the connection between these two tasks, towards Emotion Aware Conversational Agents.

I am also interested in Cognitive Computational Neuroscience and did research on Attractor Neural Network models of Associative Memory. I modelled the human Lifespan Retrieval Curve from psychological studies with such networks.

Being fond of Music and AI, I enjoy doing experiments mixing Music Composition with Automatic Music Generation.

I am also very curious about the developments in Artificial General Intelligence and its future implications.
