Porfírio Filipe graduated in Electrotechnical and Computer Engineering in 1996 by Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa (ISEL), Lisbon. He received a Master’s degree in 1999, from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Lisbon, also in Electrotechnical and Computer Engineering. In 2007, also from IST, he received a Doctor of Engineering degree in Computer Science and Computer Engineering. He has been teaching computer science and computer engineering topics at ISEL since 1997. In 2001, he became a member of the newly created Spoken Language Systems Lab (L2F) of INESC-ID. He is a member of the Order of Portuguese Engineers. His current research interests are spoken dialogue systems and natural language interfaces.
