Abstract

In the context of a research collaboration between the L2F/INESC-ID and the LTI/CMU, I had the opportunity of spending 6 months as a visiting scholar at LTI/CMU, under the advisory of Prof. Eric Nyberg. My tasks were the design, implementation and test of a prototype system of a virtual teaching assistant, which made use of Question-Answering technologies.

I will divide this (very informal) talk in two parts: on the first one, I will present the technical details of the developed prototype; on the second one, I will share some thoughts on this experience.
