Gonçalo Raposo

Gonçalo Raposo is a dedicated researcher and Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science, specializing in Natural Language Generation. With a strong academic background in Aerospace Engineering, Gonçalo's passion for AI and deep learning led him to pursue a career in academia.
Currently, Gonçalo holds a position as an AI Research Scientist at Unbabel, a company that utilizes deep learning for translation and quality estimation. In this role, he contributes to the development of an innovative app called Halo, which aims to restore the voice of ALS patients. Gonçalo's work on Halo has garnered media attention and has opened up collaborations with real patients, further highlighting his commitment to impactful research.
Prior to his current position, Gonçalo gained valuable research experience as a visiting researcher at Carnegie Mellon University and as a researcher at INESC-ID. His research focus has been on Natural Language Processing, and he has made significant contributions to the field.
