Thomas Rolland

Thomas Rolland studied Computer Science, specializing in Artificial Intelligence and pattern recognition. In 2016, he successfully earned his Bachelor of Science degree, followed by a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence in 2018, both from the University of Toulouse 3, France.
He transitioned to Lisbon, Portugal, to pursue a PhD at Inesc-ID and Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa. Under the supervision of Professor Alberto Abad, his research focuses on improving automatic speech recognition for children.
He has participated in several noteworthy initiatives such as TAPAS - Training Network on Automatic Processing of Pathological Speech - a European program. Currently, he is part of the ACCELERAT.AI project.
Beyond his primary focus on children's automatic speech recognition, he maintains a broad spectrum of research interests. These encompass robust speech recognition, exploring applications in healthcare, and text-to-speech technologies.
