Rubén Solera Ureña

Bio: Dr. Rubén Solera Ureña is an Auxiliary Researcher at the Human Language Technology (HLT) Laboratory at INESC-ID, Lisbon, Portugal. He received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Telecommunications Engineering and Multimedia and Communications, respectively, from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain, in 2004 and 2011. From 2003 to 2014, he held several teaching and research positions at the Department of Signal Theory and Communications, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain. In May 2015, he moved to the Spoken Language Systems Laboratory (L2F) at INESC-ID (currently HLT Laboratory), where he has been involved as a post-doctoral researcher in several research projects and programmes in the field of speech and language technologies. Since October 2023, Rubén Solera Ureña has been working as an Auxiliary Researcher in the Accelarat.AI project, which aims to create disruptive solutions based on conversational artificial intelligence agents and CCaaS (contact centre as a service) that will accelerate more efficient interaction between public/private entities and customers/citizens. He is mainly involved in the research and development activities of the modules of the speech-to-speech conversational stack, especially those related to automatic speech recognition for Portuguese. His current research interests include signal processing, machine learning, speech processing, automatic speech recognition, and computational paralinguistics. Rubén Solera Ureña has participated in 17 national and international projects and has co-authored 17 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
